Bruce Thorndike surveys the environment of contemporary Britain in his on-going series of urban and rural landscapes.
With an almost archaeological eye, he exposes layers to reveal the passage of time and man's intervention with the environment. Sensitive to the eccentricities and ambiguities of the modern landscape, these photographs have a metaphorical presence, reflecting a deeper and more personal territory.
Bruce Thorndike has exhibited extensively in the UK and Europe, including at the Museum of London. His work is held in many private collections.
