Kate Schermerhorn
American
Born New York, 1966

For more than five years Kate Schermerhorn devoted herself to documenting the American nation's pursuit of happiness.
The resulting body of work, America's Idea of a Good Time, by turns surreal, affectionate and enigmatic, shrewdly observes the culture of manufactured pleasure.
Schermerhorn has exhibited extensively in Europe and the USA, including The Victoria and Albert Museum, London and The Royal Photographic Society, Bath. Her work has appeared in numerous publications including The Sunday Times, The Independent, The British Journal of Photography, The San Francisco Chronicle and Granta.
Signed prints are available at £400+vat.
