A former assistant to Louise Dahl-Wolfe and Hoyningen-Heune, Gene

in Harpers Bazaar, Vogue and Vanity Fair.
In 1949 he gave up his lucrative career to paint in Paris. During

as couturiers Yves Saint Laurent, Schiaparelli, Pierre Cardin, Givenchy,
and Chanel.
